The Art Of Monoprint

Fri 17th August 14:00 - 16:00

Monoprint literally means single - a print technique using line and mark making directly from an inked surface, thereby creating a different image with each paper print. You can also retrace a drawing to produce multiple versions, all slightly different. It is a wonderfully tactile method, that produces a host of interesting, and sometimes unexpected results, great for those new to printing.

The workshop is led by Zoe Eaton and Pete Giles who will show how to develop your mage from drawings or photographs, and abstract mark making. Using single colour, water based bloc printing inks, which can then be tinted with watercolours or drawing media. We will also look at how this medium is used by contemporary artists such as Tracy Emin.
