ART FOR WELLBEING / 6 weeks / Fri 10 - 12

Find your artistic flow - with this series of restful workshops,  led by Zoe Eaton and Bobby Wotnot. 

Each session uses art activities, combined with an ambient atmosphere, to aid a state of creative 'flow'.  Being absorbed in a creative task is thought to promote a sense of wellbeing, by developing   confidence, observation skills, concentration, hand-eye coordination and Mindfulness.   The activities we have chosen are designed for people of all levels of artistic ability - so it doesn't matter if you 'can't draw' . Enjoy the process and leave with lovely artwork!

You can pick any week for £15, or book all 6 sessions for £60. Includes materials and herbal tea.

Add the personal touch to your gifts and decorations, with our festive craft workshops!  Choose from the Saturday or Sunday - suitable for all the family. Just £15 per session, (kids £10 under 5's go free).

An open drawing class for all levels and abilities - The sessions are taught by experienced tutors, in a friendly and informative style. Each week we explore different themes and media. from the local landscape, to botanical, portraits, people and animals! All welcome, materials included but feel free to bring your own. Booking advised, £10 per session (£7.50 concs).

EXPLORE WITH WATERCOLOUR 14:00 - 16:00

A weekly open water colour and mixed media class - each session we will explore a different topic or theme. From still life, portraits, and Weather permitting, paint outside scenes, ... The class is suitable for all levels of ability, complete beginners welcome. Tools and materials included but feel free to bring your own materials too.. With Zoe Eaton and guest tutors, £10 per session.

Paint & Party Nights!

Sat 16, Thurs 21, Friday 29 December 7-10 PM 

Come along to one of our fun and sociable Painting parties! Get creative, enjoy drinks and canapes, and leave with a lovely piece of artwork, even if you have never painted before! 

16 & 21 Dec During this session we will be painting portraits in the style of Picasso! Bring along a photo or do a self portrait - and paint with acrylic paints on a small canvas, with help on hand by Zoe Eaton. -

POSE !

Portrait Studio

21, 22, 23 & 30th  December 1 - 4 pm 

Our Pop up portrait studio is back for Christmas. POSE is a drop in studio, where you can sit for your portrait in under 15 minutes, and leave with original artwork for just £15. We will be joined by guest artists who will be working in a range of contemporary styles for you to choose from.

Just drop in and choose from artists working each day (message us if you would like to book a particular time slot, allow 15 mins)  Full details of each artists work can be seen HERE


SAT 23rd DECEMBER

Candle Making 10:00 - 12:00

Create beautiful and unique candles, by casting wax into sand molds, then decorate with beach finds such as shells, sea glass or pebbles. Colour your candles and fragrance with essential oils. The finished candles have a light sand crust and are ideal for indoors or outdoors. You will have time to make about 3 candles of varying sizes. Costs £20 inc materials, children £10.

Tues 26th December

BOXING DAY DRAW 11:00 - 13:00

A chance to have a creative break from the festivities. So come and spend a couple of hours drawing, all materials included.

We could even go outside if the weather is kind. £7.50

MAKE Fancy Dress BIG HEAD!

Learn how to design and make a wearable 'Big Head' using lightweight materials including paper mache, willow and cardboard.  Perfect for your New Years Eve Costume!  There's Lots of ideas to inspire you, or bring a photo and get help with design and construction with Zoe Eaton and Pete Giles.

Book into one of our Making Sessions to create the basic construction - You can pop back over the next day or so to make any finishing touches when it is dry, if necessary.

Tues 9th/16th/23rd/30th January 6pm - 8pm

PRINTING WITH LINO - 4 Week Course.

Spend four weeks of taster evenings getting to know carving methods and detailing techniques for contemporary lino printing. You will leave with a series of paper prints and stamp samples to use and take home and two completed printing projects.

Workshop to be led by Erin Lacy from Pick Pretty Paints.

Week 1 -Getting to know your tools. In the evening you will create a two layer motif design and a selection of design sheets and start to carve out two different stamps.

Week 2 - Finishing touches to your stamp design. Preparing your surface and getting to know your stamps, plus paint application. Each person will print a final calico bag and a range of paper and fabric prints.

Week 3 - Making a multi layered stamp for repeating a detailed pattern.

Week 4 - A selection of natural cotton and linen will be provided to print on all directions. Cushion, bunting and bag patterns will be provided to take away to make your new creations at home.

£55 per person, booking advisable.

BEGINNERS GUITAR DAY 11:00 - 16:00

This easy method is designed for adults with little or no experience who wish to get a good start playing acoustic guitar. During the day you will learn 4 chords, read tabs, understand the principles of tuning, and play a complete song - in small groups with time for individual assistance. PAINT LIKE ALFRED WALLIS 14:00 - 16:00

Alfred Wallis (1855 - 1942) was a naive artist who lived and worked in St.Ives. In this session you can make your own drawings of St.Ives as a basis for a painting in his style.

Zoe Eaton will lead you into making your own painting, drawing on the styles, themes, techniques and colours of Alfred Wallis. This workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities, and complete novices!
