Weds 24 April 14:00 - 16:00 BATIK FABRIC WRAPS

An introduction to Batik with Zoe Eaton- a beautiful method of decorating textiles.

Use for Christmas presents, table decorations or make unique re-usable fabric gift wraps for Christmas presents - as in wrapping techniques from the Japaese art of Furoshiki., or Korean 'Bojagi'.

To make your batik, first design and create a stencil. We then apply melted wax to your stencil, which hardens and forms a 'resist' in the dye bath. We will be dying with natural dyes. The wax is easy to remove later, when the fabric is dry, revealing your design.

Included are all materials, and squares of plain white cotton squares - ideal as reusable fabric gift wrap.

Feel free to bring along any small white, pre-washed cotton items such as table cloths, pillow case, T- Shirt, tea towel etc) to decorate on the day.

Suitable for adults and children over 5 years of age. Adults £15, children £10.
